147. Birr Burry Trees
Not one, but two intriguing trees in a small town near the centre of Ireland.
Two burry trees in the centre of Birr are botanically, visually and historically connected to a similar pair in Dublin. They are twin ‘Baobab’ London planes, and have pride of place in well-kept lawns surrounded by white iron fences close to the statue commemorating the Earl of Rosse’s tenure as Chancellor of Trinity College. Perhaps their canopies are lusher and their figures slightly fuller than their city-slicker siblings.

Events, events, events
This summer, I will be doing events all over the UK (and hopefully Ireland too), so please do come along and say hello if you can.
I will be listing the on my website as they are confirmed, so keep checking thestreettree.com/events. I already have several in place from Putney to Nottingham, and from Shaftesbury to Shoreham-by-Sea.
Why are the trees so beautiful 😍
What a couple of handsome fellows. The thick trunk and broad canopy give them an extra distinctive look.
