198. Liskeard Twister
A puzzle of a tree growing in a Cornish town centre.
A very strange tree grows near the centre of Liskeard. A twisted hornbeam has managed to develop branches that fuse into one another, creating intriguing aerial hollows. It is an old tree, and, because hornbeams are outside their natural range in Cornwall, it was probably planted as part of a hedgerow or as a boundary marker, which could explain how it acquired such a form.
