73. PZ Palm
Penzance knows how to put on a show, and for the tree-enamoured, that starts at the railway station.
Welcoming visitors and residents alike for nearly twenty years, the PZ Palm has managed considerable growth since it was planted in the early 2000s. It is the tallest of three at the entrance to Penzance station and is framed by giant steel 'PZ' letters, an earlier attempt to mark the Cornish terminus of the Great Western Railway.

There are several huge Canary Islands date palms in the Kingston area. One on the A3 between the Ace of Spades and New Malden the other on Bridge road near Chessington North station. At the Palm centre there is a huge Wine palm that has been there many years. I believe the large palm trees in our area are because of the nearby Palm centre. I have a 40 years old fan palm in my front garden, there are lots of similar size to mine nearby.
