75. Addison’s Oak
Just over one hundred years old, a Bristol oak is nevertheless both a memorial and a landmark.
In 1919, Dr Christopher Addison MP was responsible for the Housing and Town Planning Act which led to the construction of thousands of ‘homes fit for heroes’, council houses built for veterans returning from World War One. Addison visited the building site of Sea Mills the same year, and to mark the occasion an oak was planted which immediately became known as Addison’s Oak.

Not far from me, I’ll add this one to my list to visit.
Beautiful! I love how it shades the repurposed phone box.
