We very much enjoyed our stay in Limerick several years ago which included visits to the park, the gallery, and the museum now housed in a part of the terrace.
Now that we are living in the UK again, I am rediscovering the joy of parks! We have a long, rambling one round the back of our town (Alexandra Park, Hastings) and the charming Gensing Gardens just down the road. What wonderful imagination and creativity went into the old parks. But there is no reason why we shouldn’t keep creating new ones!
Sharon Slater's Limerick Life site dates the People's Park to the 20th August 1877 (she doesn't cite a source though). You certainly get about 🙂
