Thank you! I photographed one of those in Wiley Road in Archway in June, covered in flowers, thinking it would be easy to identify. Not on the Tree Map, nor could I find it. But now I recognise it.

It is indeed, that is Ligustrum ovalifolium, a smaller relative, but also from Asia

There’s one on the street outside my front window. Not sure about birds, but last month it was abuzz with honey bees. Lovely tree.

The bees love those flowers, which also have a distinct scent, did you notice that too?

I suspect there are dozens of tree species used as street trees that many people hardly know. This being one of them.
